Throughout the Track and Field season, Bateman was a dominant force. Runners, Jumpers, Throwers, Hurdlers - We had it all! They pushed themselves on a daily basis and continually improved. This inner drive and competitive spirit paid off.
Six of our athletes qualified for South Regionals. Those athletes were: Anne Lytle (1500m & 3000m), Henry McMann (3000m), Jordan Dyck (Javelin), Rahman Saeed (Triple Jump), Samantha Lessick (100m, 400m, & Triple Jump), and Tohma Van Bergen (200m & Javelin). At South Regionals, many of these athlete’s placed in the top 10 for Southern Ontario!
We had a lot of new rookies join the Track and Field team this year, however, one really stood out. Samantha Lessick (Grade 9) became the Halton Champion and the South Regional Champion for the 400m race! She set a personal best and advanced to the OFSAA Track and Field Championship! Competing against the best of the best across Ontario she achieved another personal best and placed 9th in the province!
Congratulations Track and Field on a spectacular season!
